The current Garden opened February 11, 1968 atop the old Penn Station site, the fourth arena to carry the name since 1879, and seats roughly 20,000 for Knicks and Rangers games.
Built directly above Penn Station, the Garden gives fans direct access to the A, C, E, 1, 2, and 3 subway lines plus Amtrak, LIRR, and NJ Transit without stepping outside.
