The read Flatiron District in short

The Flatiron District is named after the iconic Flatiron Building and is a hub for tech startups, with Madison Square Park at its center. It rose 20 stories when built in 1902; a 1905 rooftop addition brought it to the 22 stories (307 feet) it stands at today, on the wedge where Broadway crosses Fifth Avenue. The tower came from Daniel Burnham's firm and opened as the Fuller Building, headquarters of the George A. Fuller construction company, but locals never stopped calling it the Flatiron, and the nickname eventually became the official name.
