The read Forest Hills in short

Forest Hills is a leafy neighborhood known for its Tudor-style homes, the planned Forest Hills Gardens community, and the historic West Side Tennis Club, former home of the US Open. Forest Hills Gardens, laid out beginning in 1909 by architect Grosvenor Atterbury and landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., was among the first planned garden communities in the United States. The tennis club hosted the national championships until the tournament moved to Flushing Meadows in 1978, and its 1923 horseshoe stadium found a second life as a concert venue — the Beatles played it in 1964, and punk pioneers the Ramones formed in Forest Hills in 1974.
