The read Mott Haven in short
Mott Haven is the Bronx's southernmost neighborhood, served by the 6 train's Third Avenue-138th Street station — the first stop the Pelham Line opened in the Bronx, in 1918. Its 19th-century rowhouses have drawn a gallery scene locals call the Piano District, and the name is earned: the Estey Piano Company factory, built in 1885-86 where Lincoln Avenue meets what is now Bruckner Boulevard, still stands with its corner clock tower and has been a designated city landmark since 2006 — a relic of the era when the Bronx held more than 60 piano factories.
