The read DUMBO in short

DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) offers stunning Manhattan views and converted warehouse spaces. Jane's Carousel, a restored 1922 carousel rescued from a defunct Ohio amusement park, has sat in a glass Jean Nouvel-designed pavilion in Brooklyn Bridge Park since 2011, right under the Manhattan Bridge. The acronym was coined by residents in 1978 in the hope that an unappealing name would deter developers — a strategy that failed completely. On the waterfront, Empire Stores, a row of brick coffee warehouses built between 1869 and 1885 and once part of the Arbuckle Brothers coffee empire, stood vacant for decades before reopening from 2016 as part of Brooklyn Bridge Park.
