The read Park Slope in short

Park Slope is a family-friendly neighborhood with Victorian brownstones and proximity to Prospect Park. The park is the neighborhood's defining amenity: 526 acres laid out from 1866 and opened in 1867 by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, the designers of Central Park, who also planned Grand Army Plaza as its grand formal entrance. The plaza's Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Arch, completed in 1892 as a memorial to Union forces in the Civil War, marks the neighborhood's northern tip.
